Last weekend, Jenny and I went to D.C. to look for a house. We found one we loved but by the time we put our application in, there were already two other applications in on the house (from people without pets).

Before we move forward with our next choice we are planning another trip out to the area. Last weekend we needed a hotel for two nights and this weekend we need a place to stay for the night. Both times we found our hotel with Priceline.com This weekend we booked a 3-star hotel room (a Residence Inn) for $50 a night ($62 with tax) and last weekend we paid $60 per night for a 4-star Hyatt.

Just for fun, I looked up the rate for the Residence Inn for this weekend to see if I got a good deal or night. The rate on their web site was $219 per night. I'm paying less than 25% of the normal rate. Normally I get a deal more along the lines of 50% of the going rate, which is enough to make me feel good about it but paying 25% inspired me to share how much I like Priceline.com with the world (or at least everyone how reads my world).
